Sadly, many economically disadvantaged families are unable to send their childrent to CDI. It costs $1300.00 per month per child to provide the level of education and support the these children need and deserve. And although 90% of our families receive child care subsidies, these do not even come close to covering the complete costs of childcare.
The unfortunate result is that many of these children end up falling behind in school and often don't ever catch up. We are working hard to prevent this from happening. Quality early childhood education can be the difference between a child becoming an asset or a detriment to our society. That is why CDI is such an important organization for Dane County and Madison. We give hope, inspiration and the opportunity to achieve to children who might otherwise turn down the wrong path.
